How we build & maintain these calculators

Our business-finance tools apply standard formulas — margin/markup relationships, MRR and revenue-forecast methods, operating leverage and liquidity ratios, and published processor fee schedules. Tax and payroll tools use general mechanics and clearly flag that rates, brackets and rules change and vary by jurisdiction. They are planning aids, not tax, accounting or legal advice — confirm anything material with a qualified professional.

Guides & deep dives behind the numbers

The calculators give you a figure; these write-ups explain the reasoning and how to act on the result.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin is profit as a percentage of price; markup is profit as a percentage of cost. The same profit gives a higher markup than margin, and confusing them erodes pricing.

Are the tax and payroll calculators accurate for my country?

They model general mechanics and common rates, but tax rules vary widely and change often. Treat the output as an estimate and verify with current official rates or a tax professional.

How is MRR different from revenue?

MRR counts recurring subscription revenue normalised to a monthly figure; it excludes one-off services. The MRR calculator separates the two so you see true subscription health.
